Can day trading be a full-time job?

Asked 3 years ago

Everyone that I personally know who does trading does it part-time. I am really interested in it, and am curious as to whether or not it can be a full-time job that someone could earn a living off?

Trading is often seen as a high barrier-to-entry profession, but it can become your full-time job with patience and ambition.

Trades work doesn't necessarily need money either; traders focus on trading patterns instead of stocks or funds, which may require more initial investment than you're willing to spend if starting out in this industry.

If looking for ways to trade from home while still meeting equity requirements of $25k minimums, then becoming a designated pattern day trader might be an option worth considering.

Working for a proprietary trading firm is an option that some traders prefer, with the benefit of receiving no wages or perks.

However, they will have shares in profits made by their employer when it trades whatever assets are into something else.
