How do I read stock charts on Webull?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi, I'm fairly new to trading and I've decided to use the Webull trading platform. Can someone please tell me how to use the chart settings and read the charts?

It is actually fairly easy to read stock charts on Webull. You would see an option of Chart Settings, where you can see the reduced side chart as well as the full-sized chart. In the reduced one, you can easily track the trending and any change in the price. In the full-sized one, you can customize time and intervals.

First, congratulations on this journey! With enough patience, knowledge, and a little bit of luck, let's hope you can generate some decent returns.

Now, reading charts for the purpose of stock analysis on the Webull app or Webull desktop version should not have to be a challenging endeavor. It should be a worthwhile complement to your overall trading strategy rather than a chore that will frustrate you and force you to give up on trading.

Be it an advanced chart or simplified chart, there are many types of charts for stock analysis.

Here are some chart aspects to become acquainted with:

Indicator

These are details about stocks that you can add to the main chart and determine price movements based on the components.

Sub-Charts

You can select sub-charts that can complement your primary chart on the main screen.

Candles Style

When utilizing candle charts, you have a huge number to choose from: big candles, gravestone, shooting star, dojis, hammer, and bullish engulfing. The simplest and most used chart is the solid candle.

Multiple Chart Layers

Chart plotting is when you combine more than two chart types by repeating the process with new data sets.

Chart Height

You have high and low, so, in this kind of volatile and high-volume market, you want to pick "High" for your stock analysis.

Corporate Actions Display

This is part of the indicators we previously discussed. Ultimately, you will find indicators on your charts in relation to earnings, dividends, splits, and so much more.

Timeframes

Investors can select the timeframe of the stock performance. For example, you can choose year-to-date, the last month, or from date x to date y.
