Do you use free and automatic dividend reinvestment or limit orders?
Asked 4 years ago
Hi, I've been sussing out dividend stocks and investment methods, and I'm looking for advice. Is it generally recommended to reinvest dividend orders automatically, or should I rather be using limit orders? What strategies do you use on the above?

If you're starting out, I suggest free and automatic dividend reinvestment.
Once your portfolio is small enough to easily manage with a free platform, then it's time to switch over to limit orders.
It can be difficult for the brokerages that charge per trade. So one should leverage the brokerages that don't charge more than once per year ($10-$50).
Robinhood works well as long as your account is funded for at least $1.
