What Is The Best Investment For My Child If I Have A Couple Hundred Dollars?
Asked 4 years ago
What's the best investment for kids if I only have a couple hundred dollars. How to invest for kids, as of right now, it’s just sitting in savings.

If you want to just "set it and forget it," your best investment option for your child would be either some index exchange-traded fund (ETF) or a dividend-paying stock.
Here are two ETFs that you could buy with a couple of hundred dollars:
iShares Preferred and Income Securities ETF (PFF)
- 06/15: $38.99
- Yield: 4.61%
Invesco Financial Preferred ETF (PGF)
- 06/15: $19.23
- Yield: 4.86%
If ETFs are not your thing, you could park your cash in these two stocks and accumulate the dividends:
Restaurant Brands International (QSR)
- 06/15: $68.34
- Yield: 3.10%
Suncor Energy (SU)
- 06/15: $25.49
- Yield: 2.52%
You could also buy BRK.B, but there are no dividends.
