Many Wall Street analysts are bullish on Russia and the ruble, citing the booming energy industry. It is risky because of potential geopolitical disruptions, but it has held its own even during threats of sanctions and diplomatic strife.
Check this one benefit out, too: The ETF has restarted paying its quarterly dividend, kicking off at $0.353 a dividend.
iShares MSCI Turkey ETF (TUR) is another ETF that I'm on the fence about. If this were three months ago, this would have been a strong buy, but removing Naci Agbal from the head of the central bank put the country's economic future in doubt. TUR might require a wait-and-see approach.
