Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I want to expand on my investment portfolio, and I'm looking at HP stock. I'm looking for a second opinion. Is HP a good company to invest in for the long term?

Hewlett Packard (HPQ) is a bit of a mixed bag stock.
The company has had a long downfall in the technology sector amid the broad array of companies that have excelled in the PC market.
Here are the pros of buying HPQ stock:
- Compared to other tech stocks, shares are cheap.
- The dividend yield is decent at just below 3%.
- Most analysts have given this either a "Hold" or a "Buy."
- Quarterly HP revenues have remained high.
Here are the cons of investing in HPQ stock:
- Analysts contend that the stock is overpriced.
- Short-term assets do not cover its long-term liabilities.
- Valuations are the highest they have been since 2018, despite the lack of fundamentals, suggesting a correction is inevitable.
