How much does Wealthsimple charge per transaction, and are there any hidden fees?

Today, Wealthsimple only offers clients U.S. and Canadian stocks. You cannot purchase international equities.
Of course, you can buy American or Canadian investment funds that offer investors exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that have exposure to European or Asian securities.
That said, if you are buying a U.S. stock, it is zero-commission on Wealthsimple, so the only fee you're paying is the conversion from Canadian dollars to U.S. dollars - and vice versa - and this 1.5% fee is added to the exchange rate.
