Because NFA and FINRA do not have restrictions on day trading forex, futures options, or futures contracts, Futures Options are not subject to the same rules as other investing opportunities.
Because of NFA and FINRA regulations, covering margin on Futures, Futures Options, and Forex positions does not count toward the $25,000 minimum equity requirement for day traders.

Is there a PDT rule regarding foreign exchange trading?
The PDT rule does not apply to forex traders since it was designed exclusively for stockbrokers by FINRA.
