How much do forex traders make a day?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi all, I've set a goal for how much I want to profit from trading forex, and I wondered how realistic I am. How much can a beginner trader expect to make when trading forex vs. someone who has more experience? How long did it take you until you reached a point where you were consistently making a profit?

A typical currency variation might be 80-100 points in a day based on the volatility calculator. So, if the market moves in one direction or another, you may make money from it! According to statistics, first-time forex day traders earn 100 points a day on average, resulting in $10 per day.

As a result, if everything works out as planned, a trader may earn 10 USD a day with a deposit of 2,000 USD. This implies monthly profit will be 10% (200 USD per month, i.e., 10*20).

However, it does not account for spreads and swaps that take a significant percentage of profits.

Second, because the risk in my example is 100%, it violates a risk management rule that states that a risk per trade must not exceed 2% of the deposit.

Third, a trader may not always make money.
