While many leading trading platforms use and allow payment with PayPal, TD Ameritrade, unfortunately, isn't one of them. Currently, you cant fund your TD Ameritrade account with PayPal. Nevertheless, in five major ways, you can fund your TD Ameritrade account. They accept Wire Transfers, normal check payment, transferring stock from other firms, Electronics bank deposits, and physical stock certificates.

You can fund your account using wire transfers, Electronic banks deposits, check, account transfers from other firms and physical stock certificates. In case you prefer Paypal transfers, you can open an account with eToro, easymarkets, AvaTrade or any other renowned broker that support PayPal.

TD Ameritrade is one of the largest online stock brokerages in the US, but they don't accept PayPal for funding.
You need to use other methods like wire transfers or electronic bank deposits.
Alternatively, you can also withdraw money from your Paypal balance to your current bank account by setting up an ACH withdrawal request on the Paypal website.
If you're looking for some unique ways to fund your TD Ameritrade account, several options are available. Discover the method that's best for you and start trading right now, whether it's by depositing money, rolling over your old 401(k), or transferring funds from another brokerage.
There are 4 primary ways to fund your TD Ameritrade account.
1. Electronic Bank Deposit (ACH)
You can send cash from your bank account to your TD Ameritrade account electronically. It's the most popular funding method.
- Standard completion time: 5 mins
- Deposit limits: $50 - $250,000
- How to start: Set up online
ACH method gives you 3 options as follows:
- Start trading fast with Express Funding - You can authorize a one-time cash transfer from your bank during regular trading hours and start trading in as little as 5 minutes and a deposit limit of $150,000.
- Connect and fund from your bank account - You can give instructions to TD Ameritrade to contact your bank. In most cases, your account will be validated immediately or up to 3 business days. The deposit limit is $250,000.
- Initiate a transfer from your bank - You can also give instructions directly to your bank. You need to know: the amount, the routing number, and your account. It takes one business day. There are no deposit limits (Unless your bank has a limit). Contact your back to start.
2. Wire Transfer
With a wire transfer from your bank or other financial institution, you can quickly fund your TD Ameritrade account.
To establish an account, there is no minimum deposit required. Include your active TD Ameritrade account number to avoid a denied wire or a slowdown in processing. Please do not start the wire until you receive notification that your account has been activated.
3. Check
Write a check for deposit to your new or existing TD Ameritrade account.
- Mobile deposit - Deposit a check using their mobile app, which you can do from your smartphone or tablet. Choose your account, take a picture of the check for the front and back, write down the amount, and finish the process. There are no fees to use this service. The One Touch process is not available for all accounts. There may be other limitations. For complete terms and conditions, see the Mobile Check Deposit Service User Agreement.
- Mailing checks - Send a money order or cashier's check to your new or existing TD Ameritrade account. Make your payments payable to "TD Ameritrade Clearing, Inc." (except for third-party checks)
4. Account Transfer from Another Firm
Put in your TD Ameritrade account with another firm and move stocks, options, ETFs, and other assets. It takes about a week to complete.
In this option, you have 2 choices;
- Transfer assets from another brokerage firm - There is no minimum deposit needed to open an account with TD Ameritrade, but certain offers may have conditions. The name(s) on the account to be moved must match the name(s) on your intended TD Ameritrade account.
- Retirement account transfer (Rollover 401(k) or IRA) - The name/title of your new TD Ameritrade account must be the same as the one you are leaving. When it comes to dealing with outdated retirement plans, there are a variety of alternatives. It takes about a week and has no deposit restrictions.
