Which stock sector do 'defense' stocks fall under?
Asked 5 years ago
I'm looking for defense stocks, but I can't seem to find them. Am I using the wrong word? What sector do they fall under? Maybe knowing that would help me find some good ones.

A "defense" stock is an investment in a company that deals with the military and defense, such as Lockheed Martin.
The name "defense" typically refers to companies that provide products or services for the military, but it can also include some companies like Terex which are involved in contracting rather than providing weapons systems.
Generally, defense stocks deliver significantly higher rates of return due to defense budgets being on a serious upward trend over the last ten years.
Finding some good defense stocks could be done by perusing lists such as "100 Most Popular Stocks of 2013" found on Forbes and Yahoo Finance--as well as researching individual investors' blogs and articles containing analyses of quality stocks within this sector (e.g., GE).
