Is MetaTrader 4 safe to use for Forex trading?
Asked 4 years ago
Hey guys, I've started trading on Forex. Should I also be using mt4? I am rather concerned about hackers. Would you say it's safe to use? Oh, and it would be awesome if MetaTrader 4 has a community, it would mean there's a possibility for social trading, right? Thanks in advance!

Yes, MetaTrader 4 is safe for foreign exchange trading.
Despite an environment of cyber attacks and hacking, most of which seems like it occurs on a daily basis, MT4 encrypts all the data between the user and the server. It effectively encrypts your IP address as you execute trades on the platform.
And, yes, MT4 was originally developed for online retail FX trading. That said, MT4 can be utilized for a broad array of markets, from commodities to equities.
