What type of gold do people buy in the stock market?
Asked 4 years ago
People have been telling me to invest in gold, but is it real gold like 14K, 24K, etc.? I try to searching gold to invest in, and I get results such as "Barrick Gold Ord SHS," "SPDR Gold Shares," "Goldman Sachs Group," etc. What are the differences between them, and which type of gold is best to invest in?

When people are advocating buying gold, there are a diverse array of avenues to explore when investing in the precious metal.
Traders can buy shares in gold mining companies, like Barrick Gold, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that specialize in metals.
Investors can buy leverage funds that trade based on the movement of gold prices.
CFDs are also an option when you want to trade mainly on prices.
Another way is to buy something like SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) and GraniteShares Gold Shares (BAR) where you are investing in paper bullion.
So, ultimately, investing in gold comes with a wide variety of options!
