What does "fundamental analysis" mean in trading?

Hi traders, what does "fundamental analysis" mean and do, and is it important trading? In other words, is it profitable? Since I've clearly never worked within before, would you please tell me how you do a fundamental analysis?

Fundamental analysis is about studying the intrinsic value of a particular security. Types of fundamental analysis include qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitative involves the brand value, management decisions, the financial decision of a company at a given time; while quantitative analysis studies numbers like the company's financial statement to make decisions.
