Should you hold or sell GME and AMC?
Asked 4 years ago
Hi friends! I’ve seen lots of conversations around GME and AMC. However, I'm still a bit confused as to why holding will make an impact. Any advice will be helpful!

Let's look at each company:
AMC
Despite the meme hype over AMC, the fundamentals do not support its current share price (around $60). Its balance sheet is horrific, it has too much debt, it has too many theaters (according to industry observers), and consumer trends might be evolving away from the cinema. It did not help that the company engaged in massive share dilution.
If you bought in anywhere below $10 a share and maintained an enormous position, perhaps you would be better off selling now and wait for another dip in the share price to get back into.
GameStop
GameStop was the company that initiated the Reddit frenzy. But is the company worth its current share price of about $200? Right now, most likely not. However, the business is going through an overhaul, changing management and adopting new business practices.
Its future seems brighter than AMC at the moment, so it could be worth holding onto.
Plus, who knows if there will be another short squeeze that triggers another massive wave?
