Would you recommend selling or holding BRK.B stock for the long-term investment?
Asked 4 years ago
I bought a position on Brk. B at 188 $ (buffets company) because I thought it was a secure play since he is so great and everything. But, woe betide me, I am currently sitting at an 8% loss. (I've had it for a month) Since I've got very little money in my account, I want to utilize the funds for other short-term trades that will be more profitable. Would you recommend selling or holding BRK.B for the long term? What would you do?

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Class B (BRK.B) is certainly a stock you would hold as a long-term investment. This is one of those investments that I would never sell until I hit retirement.
You bought in at a great price since it is now trading at a record high of about $280. So, I'm unsure how you are sitting at a loss.
I would also build my position by purchasing the dips, which could happen anytime since a steep correction is likely in the books.
Suffice it to say, hold BRK.B for the rest of your life! It might not pay a dividends, but it is a well-run investment fund.
