Is day trading legal in the UK?
Asked 3 years ago
I've been tinkering about, trading here and there for fun on the side. I've now reached the point where I want to start trading on a more serious note. However, I do live in the UK, and with that, I know that there might be some things that I can and cannot do. Now, I want to day trade. Is this legal in the UK?

Day trading is not illegal in the United Kingdom. It's one of the most popular trading methods, especially in the United Kingdom.
You may open as many day trades as you like at any time of the day or night, anywhere in the world, because there is always an active market somewhere. It's still critical to ensure that you're working with a regulated trader.
Look up your broker's website to see whether the firm is regulated. The broker's license number and regulatory authority should be both available on the site.
It's important to remember that certain countries have banned retail traders from trading on highly speculative products, such as CFDs. There are only a few countries that have such regulations at the moment, and the United Kingdom isn't one of them.
