I want to know how legit the strategy is. Is it a viable strategy and how effective is it? Will I get in trouble for it?

Yes, copy trading is legal and it can be an excellent strategy depending on how you invest your capital.
﻿Copy-trading should be used by those who see themselves as professional investors and have the time to spend researching options they want to invest in. It may not be viable for those with busy schedules who would prefer making investments quicker than researching tech companies that could go up in value but then drop at any moment without warning.
