Is CFD trading illegal in the US?
Asked 4 years ago
Hi, I'm in the USA and am rather interested in trading CFD. However, I can't seem to access a broker that allows me to trade these. Are they simply not available in the US, or is it entirely illegal, and why?

CFDs are not permitted in the United States and Hong Kong, but Minimum contract sizes are small, so it's easy to buy just one share CFD; It's simple to establish new instruments: they aren't limited by exchange definitions or jurisdictional boundaries, so there's a lot of underlying instruments available.
Even though CFD trading is not presently permitted in the United States, traders from many different countries, however, can buy and sell CFDs on US exchanges. Furthermore, with the appropriate approach, CFD trading in the United States may be profitable.
