How do you analyze a popular investors' portfolio performance?
Asked 4 years ago
Hello everyone! I have a question about copy trading portfolios. Are the PI's portfolio performance percentages relative to the previous month or accumulative? Lets' say a PI's portfolio was 15% green in January, then 5% green in February: does that mean that in February, the portfolio actually went down 10%, or did it go up an additional 5%, making the total profit for 2 months 20%? I hope this explains my question clearly. Thanks in advance!

Assessing a popular investor's portfolio performance on a copy trading platform can be a bit tricky for anyone - beginner or pro.
So, in this case, the portfolio in your attribution shows that it went up 15% in January and an additional 5% in February. The total returns will be 20.75% when you factor in compounding.
You can find the cumulative returns for the year on the right-hand side under the "total label."
