Is "verify your identity with a selfie" a valid email from eToro?

Asked 4 years ago

The email essentially asked me to verify my identity with a selfie. This doesn't really seem legit, but I'm also not sure. Does anyone know if it is a safe email that is actually from eToro?

While eToro does maintain a selfie verification program, when you are unsure about the legitimacy of the email, you should certainly get in touch with the customer support team to find out if this is a scam or a fake email

You can also shield yourself from harmful viruses by not clicking on any links in the email or responding with sensitive and personal information, like a passport or driver's license, to confirm your identity.

If it is a fraudulent email, you can ensure that the email is blocked from contacting you ever again.
