Does Wealthsimple sell fractional shares?
Asked 4 years ago
I want to invest and buy stocks, but I don't have the ideal amount of money available to me just yet. Is it possible to buy fractional shares on this platform? Thanks.

Yes, Wealthsimple recently announced that it will allow its users to purchase fractional shares. But the list is confined to a small number of stocks rather than the entire market.
Here are the eligible U.S. and Canadian stocks:
U.S. Stocks
- Apple (AAPL)
- Amazon (AMZN)
- Google (GOOGL)
- Microsoft (MSFT)
- Netflix (NFLX)
- Tesla (TSLA)
Canadian Stocks
- Canadian National Railway Co. (CNR)
- Royal Bank of Canada (RY)
- Shopify (SHOP)
- Toronto Dominion Bank (TD)
The company keeps adding to its list of features and offerings, so it is likely that more stocks will be eligible for fractional purchases.
