How to invest in Wealthsimple and make money?

Asked 4 years ago

Is anyone actually making money with Wealth Simple investments? I’ve been down for the past couple of months and have not seen it pick up or any returns. The risk level is sitting at 10. Any guidance would be great.

First, WealthSimple is a zero-commission trading platform. Unless you invest your money in the automated investing feature, which diversifies your investments, you are in charge of what stocks to buy and sell.

Second, it can be hard to generate positive returns in this market, especially if you got in at the top of the bull run. If you purchased during the market meltdown a year ago, you would likely be way up.

Third, WS has a huge number of options to trade from that can help you make money. For example, you invest directly in the commodities market (HZU or HNU) and you can place a bearish bet on the Nasdaq Composite Index (SQQQ) if you think it is due for a correction.

The energy market is rebounding, but there are still opportunities for traders, such as Suncor Energy.

Also, WealthSimple representatives do reach out to their clients from time to time. So, if you want some advice, book an appointment and hold a meeting. It is worth it.

With the correct strategy, it is possible to make good money with Wealthsimple. With their minimal fees and no minimum balance rule, Wealthsimple can be profitable. And the auto investment feature makes it easier even if you don't have much knowledge. Just choose stocks wisely and make sure to invest in the right stocks to make money.
